We review and dissect all of the extreme details of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with the help of GM Engineers. The marks the last use of the V8 Engine in a Cadillac car. While on paper this looks like an old-school muscle car dinosaur like the Holden Chevy SS, it has so much technology. We discuss the engineering and take it on track and show how this is more than a grown-up Camaro. Others to consider are BMW M5, AMG C63, Lexus LC500, Porsche 911 and, Audi RS6.

  1. ❤ your channel. However, you are incorrect on the mpg , tank size, and it does not employ cylinder deactivation. P.S., we have E0 93 where I live and my 6-speed can manage 20+ mpg without lead boots. The tank is 17.5 gallons.

  2. 30:56 having owned one for about a year, sure, the engine power is great and effortless, but what I’ve really come to appreciate is the suspension. The ride is so smooth it spoils the feel of every other car or SUV.

  3. Great car but for the bad engine. GM knows the 6.2 is a bad engine across the entire GM lineup. And they refuse to fix it. Bottom end oiling failures and months of delays to get warranty replacement engines is driving away buyers in big numbers. Don't walk away, run away a fast as you can. Pickups, SUV, Corvette, Cadillac are all crap.

  4. We've reached a point where speed is ubiquitous. Who cares if an M5 or E63 puts better times down. Nowadays, it's all about engagement. Caddy (amazingly) is the hands-down winner. It's such a shame that this is the end of an era.

  5. Breaking news. After Jay's review..Lewis Hamilton drops Ferrari & opts for the Cadillac. IMSA Caddy's have passed down a similar sound to the Blackwing. Sounds Gnarly for a 4 door sedan

  6. Recently drove my 2024 CT5 Blackwing -6 speed with a cabin and trunk full of stuff to bring my son to college. With a few 100 + mph hits in isolated mountain top locations my overall efficiency was over 25 MPG.

  7. The best "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" car IMO is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N with the DCT. Eco mode is VERY docile. Once in N Mode, EVERYTHING is sharper (steering, transmission, engine crispness, suspension) feels like a COMPLETELY different car. From economy driving car to full on track warrior.

  8. At 17:50 he’s talking about a 2003-04 mustang cobra. I have a 700rwhp cobra and my 2023 blackwing was just delivered. The cobra still scares me. The Cadillac is faster because it is more controlled

  9. The MPGs aren’t nearly as bad as described here. I just bought a ‘22 with 4,300 clicks. The prior owner never reset the trip computer – he averaged 16.8 MPG.

  10. I bought the CT5 V Blackwing in white today with the manual transmission (2024 model). I have a lot to learn about the car over the the first 1,500 break-in miles. Currently restricted to no more than 4,500 revs, but initial impressions are very, very positive. If the "market adjustment' that so many dealers are asking for has put you off, then this is the time (today is Dec 7, 2023) to buy. Dealers are trying to make end-of-the-month AND end-of -the-year numbers so they are motivated. I made the initial $25,000 "market adjustment" go away by just insisting that I would not pay over the M.S.R.P. So get down to your Caddy dealer.

  11. I bought a CT4 Blackwing while I am waiting for my CT5. Cadillac has created something very special in both of these cars and J am so glad to be in a position in my life to enjoy both of them. First American cars I’ll be owning in way too long. Great review! You guys are simply the very best!

  12. The fact that you're completely unbothered talking while Jack drives like a maniac is such a flex for both this car and this channel 😂

  13. I’m in love with this car. It’s not the fastest on the strip. Yet, I haven’t been beaten off the line or traffic light. I’m in Denver and I get to play with some really capable cars…the look on peoples faces when they can’t understand how your still next to them…haha. The way this this bites, sits and gets through corners just blows my mind. Buy one, then definitely take the included with purchase performance driving school, find the car’s limits in Cadillac’s BlackWing and then be confident in your own. Thank you very much for this fantastic video, Savage Geese is must watch content!!!
