FREE – this is an independent science fiction feature film I made 25 years ago. A special investigator is sent to Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a noted scientist. Self-financed, the movie was produced on an extreme shoestring budget.

It was shot on 35mm with an Arri 2C camera and blimp. I recently used my DIY transfer device to make a 2K digital copy from a low contrast 35mm print. I also did some digital clean up and effects.

  1. Thanx for sharing this Gem!!! A wonderful film…

It was like reading a very good Stephen King short story, a slow insight in the human mind… When the pace slowed even more, and the spoken words disappeared, it was even better – you get the chance to "fill in the blanks" yourself!!! Whats happening? What is he/she thinking about right now? You get the chance to actually build the story TOGETHER with the filmmaker!!!

Great film, Stephen King class!!! The most honest 8 of 10 I've given on Youtube (and that scale includes ALL films I've ever seen, from Terminator and Rocky to As Good As It Gets and Titanic – all masterpieces!)

Thanx a million for sharing this 🙏

    Love from Sweden 💖

  2. Well, I didn't get it although I have a guess or two given the poem and the ending. Was not expository enough. Waste of time for me. Find something better.

  3. The longer we wade through something like this, the better the ending has to be. At the halfway point, it is already too late to expect that for this film. I should have at least connected with a character by now to care what happens to them.
A good ending still needs to be entertaining along the way. When I stop watching to read comments and do not care about the ending anymore, it is a swing-and-a-miss.
Usually, I watch a couple of minutes of a movie then jump to the end. Expectations for this ending were too low to be worth a jump. At midway point, I gave it more than it deserved. Try harder at the writing. It is the story that matters, not what happens behind the camera.

  4. So much for the reviews.. Is it just me or are the initial interviews ridiculous? Uncommunicative to say the least. A script with Interrogations that allow disassociated responses to stand without query… To go seemingly unnoticed. How pointless and frankly – manipulative. Also a level of literal response that is both deliberately annoying and suggestive of psychosis.

  5. There is a fine line between suspense and senseless boredome….. It has been crossed with excessive dramatic pauses in their cryptic "conversations"… Zzzzzzz
