  1. 26:42 the nazi and tje investigatir sitting side by side not even knowing wjo the other are. Welless' character going into what "he thinks" the nazi mind works like, the diea they were wronged by people inferior to them, and you can tell he knows hes wrong and that its hurting him to play against his own point, but he deludes himself into thinking it anyway. My favourite scene in the film

  2. 1:30:00

1st man in crowd below – "what time is it?"

2nd man in crowd below (looking up) – "let me check, ah yes, just coming up to stabbed o'clock."

(what episode of trumpton was that part of the movie from?)

  3. This seems to be a 16mm print, which degrades the quality of the cinematography and the audio quite a bit. I don't understand the legalities involved, but 16mm prints sometimes fall into public domain while the original 35mm version is still under copyright protection.

  4. How many viewers of this movie caught the slip up Welles' character made in the movie when he declares at the dinner party, "Marx wasn't a German, Marx was a Jew" ???

A later scene in the movie, Edward G Robinson's character wakes up from a sound sleep as if he is being kicked at the same time Welles' character is kicking his wife's dog Red. . . and he realizes that Welles' character has given himself away by declaring that Marx wasn't really German because he was a Jew.

  5. So-called "Edward G. Robinson" was not even his real name. Obviously. Emanuel Goldenberg sold-out his birth moniker in the name of 'Hollywood' shallowness & deceit?! In other words, from pressure of a greedy Agent(s) and or Studio(s), with preconceived notions of greater recognition & better financial gain?! The worst part is the disrespect of parents and family heritage.
